David Venhuizen, P.E., provides planning and design services for water resources management systems, focusing on water use efficiency through decentralized treatment and reuse of the reclaimed "waste" water--including greywater management, and on low-impact development principles of stormwater management and rainwater harvesting for water supply. Specializing in decentralized management concepts, working with each site to maximize sustainability, and methods to maximize reuse in the most cost efficient manner. These principles are practiced in a variety of applications, including residential on-site systems, clusters of houses, and building-scale/campus-scale systems for commercial/retail development. The decentralized concept emphasizes the use of relatively "fail-safe" treatment options like sand filters and of subsurface drip irrigation to minimize operations and maintenance liabilities and maximize reuse benefits.
